hurt

People hurt other people, this is certain. Far more often and less often recognized is the hurt we do after the fact... the initial sting is provided by the other, and the rubbing and scratching we do just hurts us more. I am getting tired of watching people hurt themselves... whether taking the pain of another or merely rehashing something someone did someday. Dwelling in the past makes you dead to the present. All of you fuckers need to just get over it. I was not very fair when calling someone selfish the other day... selfish implies immaturity, and they are currently showing the greatest maturity by learning and growing in reply to the pain they feel.
A lot of people have things to say about pain:
that pain is weakness leaving the body
that pain is an opportunity to learn
that pain is merely an illusion
that pain is necessary to life

All I can tell you that pain is...
and the majority of your pain is completely unnecessary.

I used to argue there was an innate masochistic tendency in every human, because every human will in time try to mess up something perfectly good. Every human does something stupid, almost intentionally / prolly subconsciously, that hurts them... and they do these things all the time, but especially when they are feeling good.
I agree with all the above statements about pain. I also believe pain is what you make of it, or more appropriately what you make from it. I think people should stop victimizing themselves because their metaphysical toe was stubbed and just walk on the other foot for a while. Our hearts and minds are so very strong that we can get over these things nearly instantaneously if we want to... on the other hand, if you're still hurting from something in the past, it might be because you want to. Just give it up (to God) and get over it.
