The End

My body is going to go into shock tomorrow when I start eating New Hampshire food again. It will say, this isn't a pound of meat and this isn't fast food, make up your fucking mind! My diet has been absolutely HORRIBLE for the last week and a half.

Today is my last day in Kansas City. It's a great time, but I'm ready to go home. I got to see a lot of friends that I haven't seen for a long time, but there are others that I didn't get to see much of, and that disappointed me (I'm looking at you, wrjones and Michael Born). I can't remember the last time I had more than 5 hours of sleep. If I thought I was going to get any writing done on the flight home, I was stupid. I will sleep from Kansas City to Boston and they will have to throw me off the plane when we get there.

Yesterday was the monster. We began at 8am with round 1 of The End, the three-day (and three part) battle interactive to defend the city against the orc horde of the Pomarj. We finished at 2am this morning, finally defeating the war chief (because I forgot to give him a heroes' feast) and saving the city. For those of you counting at home, that was an 18-hour interactive, including meal breaks.

I have seen enough twinked shit this weekend to say with absolute authority that the "balancing" WotC did with the compendium books (I'm looking at you, Magic Item Compendium) isn't balanced at all. It really sucked the fun out of the game sometimes. Still, people had fun, people said thank you (you're welcome!), and I got to do what I do one last time.

This was a triumph!
