when the show opened on a Mr. and Mrs. smith moment with Danny and Steve, I was like yes! here we go! and then two people got killed on a hiking trail with a military drone and I was like, there we went. Because a drone takes out two people, and while the military won't give Steve answers, they don't get involved at all? Really?
Kono is the most kick ass female character on TV right now, she outruns everybody on her team including Steve. unless she's next to Adam, and then she's all damsel in distress, which I don't get. This is a woman who punched out a guy for riding her wave, and she gets next to Adam and goes kitten soft, I am so confused by this. And Adam wants to get married, which pretty much guarantees he'll be dead in like 4 more episodes.
I am not a fan of Grover, which worked out because his involvement in this case was minimal, which goes to prove that he really shouldn't be there. even Catherine got more to do on her first trip out with the team.
And while I can appreciate Steve referring to the team as ohana, they really haven't been since like season 2. it's mostly just been superSEAL and those other people who occasionally show up to help him with his cases. Do we really need to see just how strong Steve is by letting him run after a suspect with a bullet wound in his thigh? And seriously, car sick Steve? you're a SEAL, i seriously doubt you get car sick in the passenger seat of ANY vehicle and this is the reason why you don't let Danny drive his own car? I tend to agree with Danny that it's because you have control issues. MAJOR control issues.
Getting an island full of people to disappear in less than two hours was impressive...and highly improbable. All so you could land a private plane in the middle of a street to pick up some dude the CIA hadn't been able to locate in over a month? and wouldn't it have made more sense for the CIA to let at least the governor know there was a traitor wanted on the island so somebody would be looking for him?
and Jerry, yet another character I have no use for. I mean, it's cool to see him a couple of times, but he's in the credits so we're looking at every episode now. we are threatening to becoming Lost: The Hawaii Five O years here.
I was hoping that by doing the flashbacks that was a way to let the fans know they were going to go back to the writing that made this show so great in the first place. i guess i just keep hoping. cause they kinda lost me mid season 3.
And show of hands of people who thought that eventually, that B.S. with matty would eventually show up again to bite Danny in the ass? I was actually expecting that sooner. I mean, your brother is dealing with drug cartels, sooner or later one of those men was going to come calling trying to find him or whatever he took.
so, here's hoping season 5 is better than the last 2 seasons, but i wouldn't hold my breath. because like Sandy said, "fiction only works if you can suspend your disbelief during it," and they blew that 10 mintues into the show.

I couldn't believe Steve didn't have one single contact in the military who was willing to help him out. I will roll my eyes so hard if Steve has to go to Jerry for his classified intel from now on.

You mean it isn't every woman's dream to be kept like a hothouse flower?

There's a reason I never watch this show for the plot.

You and me both.

I thought it would come up before now, too. I was really hoping it would turn out that Matt got a job laundering money for Wo Fat's organization without realizing who Wo Fat was.
