Movie: Banlieue 13 (District B13)
When we get French films here in the States, they're usually dramas and frequently star Gérard Depardieu, so can I be excused for not knowing that the French make awesome action movies? This movie has a ton of foot chases involving Parkour (freerunning), fight scenes, and shootouts. Seriously, there's an action scene every 10 minutes or so, and the lead actors are both stunt guys (one of them was the stunt coordinator for the movie; the other is a freerunner), so they did all their own stunts and they were brilliant. I now have a crush on Cyril Raffaelli. He's not really my type, but he's amazing to watch. The casino scene put a big huge giant smile on my face. I haven't had this much fun watching an action movie in years. And fortunately there's a sequel.
