Cross-Stitch Project Update

Now that National Craft Project Month is over, I'm resetting the ticker on my project to reflect the actual number of stitches required to complete it. I'm also back to thinking it might be a space gate. The shape and colors are exactly right for it to be the Ring Nebula, but when I matched the colors to the chart symbols, the colors were in the ( Read more... )

I would love to see what it looks like when you're done. :-D

I'm not sure I'll get a good enough picture with all the blue and black in the pattern, but I'm going to try to post an image of it when I'm finished. Maybe I'll plop it on the scanner and see if that helps.

I doubt I'll be done with it any time soon though. Unlike some people, I'm slooooowww. I envy you the rate at which you knock out afghans. It would take me the rest of my natural life to finish one.

It was just a little one. 36" x 36". Crocheting is much faster than other things I do. I'm a slug with knitting. Plus, this is a pattern I've done many many times. It's just the granny square stitch done around a single crochet block to embroider on. I finished the baby blaneket this even excpet for embroidering "Kimi" on it. :-D

My bags are also going much slower than afghans. I have to actually count the stitches to keep the pattern right. My afghan stitches, I don't have to count, just going until I get the size I want.

You'll get it and you'll do wonderful. I don't have the pacience for counted cross stitch. I can only do it so long and I go cross-eyed.

I can't do it for as long as I used to. My vision isn't improving with age. I can still see distances and close up, but it's taking longer to make the transition between them than it used to.

I don't actually have the patience for cross-stitch either. I like the patterns and I like the look of the finished products, but I've started waaaayyy more projects than I've finished. I always seem to run out of gas in the middle.

I'm trying really hard to learn to stick with one project until it's done. As much as I want to work on one of my other new patterns, I think I'm going to force myself to work on one of my unfinished projects next.
