'Tis the FUCKING Season, I guess...

Well, I really need to bitch about some shitty shit that happened to me today.

I was driving Anj's car, and I dropped her off at one of her jobs this morning, and went all the way out to one of the suburbs to do some shopping, and made it back in time to pick her up at 12:30, and get her to her next obligation--training at a new spa she was hired at, for 1 p.m.

So, I drop her off, and make my way North, and run a few errands. I debate going back to her place to wrap some presents, but then decide to stop at a plaza on North Avenue, and get a hair cut, and look at some shit at Best Buy. So, it's crowded as hell on North Ave., as it sometimes is, and I'm waiting at one of the entrance to the plaza, with tons of cars behind me. Traffic is bumper-to-bumper. An SUV lets me turn into the plaza, but it's two lanes of oncoming traffic, with no one in the far lane. So I go.

BAM!

This guy came flying up the second lane, and hit me. Knocking me hard enough, driving a Chevy LT Blazer, into another car, who was waiting to get out of the parking lot, and onto North Ave. Thankfully no one was hurt (though my back is a little twingy, now that the adrenaline has worn off... and my future in-laws all tell me I'll probably be sore in the morning), but I got cited for "Failing to Yield the Right of Way." And I have to appear in Traffic Court on February 22nd.

MotherFUCK!

Now, whether what I did was right or wrong, traffic was bumper to bumper, and this guy had no earthly business going as fast as he was going in the limited space he had to travel before he was going to end up bumper-to-bumper again. I just wish there was something I could do about this. I don't want to get fucked for only some minor shit when this guy was careening around. I mean, he was really hauling. I have pictures of the damage. Look at the tire picture. The force of the blow almost rolled the damn thing off the rim.

Tell me that this guy wasn't at fault, too. I didn't even hear him hit the breaks.

So, for now, I'm going to place a moratorium on me driving in the City of Chicago, and having respect for the law enforcement therein. He didn't even really look at the damage to Anj's car... just the guy who hit me, and a little at the lady's car who I got plowed into. I mean, if I were the cop, I think I would've said to myself, "Wow, this sure looks like it took some force to plow this big fucking truck into that Lexus, there. This guy must have been haulin'!" Of course, you'd need a forensics team to actually calculate how fast this guy was driving, but whatever.

So, I hope the insurance companies can work it all out. I have no idea what I'll face in Traffic Court.

I hope I still have the heart to finish my preparations for Christmas.
