Saw it in the Dutch press.
Understandable, but still...

Completely understandable. Magnificent career, lovely family waiting.

Still wish this had never come...

And I'm sure he won't disappear from the football world completely.

He'd bloody well better come back and coach. *s*

Well I hope so! I know he's done coaching qualifications, but damn, I'm just so worried he'll up and disappear for ages...

someone who loves football that much? He's totally fond of his family (as is obvious) but the man needs to work, and his work is football. Perhaps he'll start slowly, but doing nothing for more than a year?

Well, sure. But... mh... We wont notice if he starts working with I dont know, fc smallville. (as a synonym for a small club or if he starts coaching some youth-related team in the middle of nowhere).

that's true, so we can only hope there's a curious journalist wondering what happened to one of the best (if not the best) goalies we ever had.

Both would be ideal (looking forward to reading your articles about how he's doing as keeper's trainer at a big club)
;-)

hehehehehe. Since I have already written and published articles, wouldnt be that hard for me ;).

To be serious again, for me I just would like to read some information from time to time. To hear what he's doing.

Yeah, I'm a firm believer in privacy and all, and if any ex-player wants to disappear into full anonymity I have no problem with that, but some news about how someone's doing is of course nice. (just as long as they're not being pestered by press or stalked or anything like that)
