CONFIRMED: Ruud to Hamburg
Though there has been no player presentation or press conference, it seems pretty much certain that Ruud van Nistelrooy is headed to Hamburg. He hasn't traveled to Germany yet, but he underwent a medical with one of their doctors in Madrid yesterday. Papers in Germany (which I admittedly can't read) are apparently saying that it is a free transfer, and that Ruud in the past few days has been looking for an 18-month contract. He previously turned down offers from Galatasaray and was being courted by Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham (of all places...).
Dicsuss. My personal opinion is this: I don't know much about Hamburg, but I sure am glad he's not headed to Spurs! Hopefully this can get him the playing time he needs/wants to participate in South Africa this summer.
