Author's Note: One of my first Ed/Rio story...I like comments but be nice plese :)
“Ferdinand!” A shout came from the office at the end of the hall, “Come in here.”
Rio walked in,
“Yes sir?”
“I have a job for you.”
Rio closed the door behind him and sat in the chair in front of the large desk.
“What is it?”
Ferguson handed him a large file.
“Edwin Van der Sar, Dutch drug lord.”
Rio nodded as he flipped through the thick file.
“I need you to find him and bring him in.”
“Yes sir.”
“Good. Look through the file tonight and be here at 7:00 tomorrow morning and we’ll have you on a flight to the Netherlands.”
Rio got up and left, grabbing his briefcase from his office and left.
Ferdinand sat down at the kitchen table, spreading out the file on Edwin Van der Sar. The file told him about what Van der Sar shipped out across the world. Ecstasy and Marijuana were the major cash cows of the operation, and Ferdinand could understand why Interpol would want this guy put out of business permanently. The dossier included no picture, but he learned he was the primary owner of Ajax and attended most home games at the Amsterdam ArenA. Rio looked up the game schedule and found the next home game to be tomorrow. He purchased a ticket online, set his alarm and went to bed.
Rio woke up, showered and made a cup of coffee and quickly rescanned the file. He grabbed a pre-packed suitcase and drove to the office.
“All right, Ferdinand.” Ferguson said as Rio got in the car that would take him to the airport, “You know what your first step is?”
“Yes sir, I’m going to a football game.”
Ferguson raised an eyebrow and was about to speak when Rio cut him off.
“Van der Sar is the primary owner of Ajax, I have to find out what he looks like before I can do anything.”
Ferguson nodded as the car pulled to a stop on the tarmac.
“Good luck.” H said shaking Rio’s hand, “Check in in a week.”
“Thanks sir, I will.”
Rio landed in Amsterdam, rented a car and drove to his hotel. The Ajax game started in about an hour so after he got settled he headed over to the Arena. By some stroke of good fortune, he found a descent parking spot and entered the grand stadium with the shitty pitch. He took his seat and pulled out binoculars and scanned the few boxes around the arena. He saw a tall, handsome man on his cell phone sitting in the biggest box.
“Ohh, please don’t be him.” Rio mumbled to himself.
He turned to the man sitting next to him.
“Excuse me, who is that?” He asked pointing to the box.
The man squinted,
“Edwin Van der Sar, he’s been brilliant for Ajax since he purchased the team.”
Rio groaned inwardly. How was he supposed to arrest a man that he’d just fallen in love with at first sight.
