My birthday last weekend was a blast.
Friday, G and I headed up the coast. This was what ensued:
We literally packed our bag at the last minute. I'm pretty sure we just threw in everything we owned. And as you can see... G TOOK MORE CLOTHES THAN ME! Yeah, that's not cool.
Have you ever taken pictures while driving? We discovered it's imperative to do it while there are no cars within a 20 metre radius, otherwise people point and laugh... (and i just noticed, apparently we have a thing for designer glasses with reflective lenses. Gay.)
After 2 toilet stops, Macdonalds, and endless phone calls from work (hello, DAY OFF!), we arrived...
We celebrated arrival by giving raspberries...
And then G got camera shy...
That night, Nat, Devin, and Kim came up to stay. We went out to dinner...
THEN IT WAS TIME TO GET DRUNK.
We went to this friggin awesome bar called "Zachary's" on Brisbane Rd. By far better than any I have been to in Brissy. Look at these awesome leather lounge beds they had ...
Not to mention the delectable lychee mojitos!! (lychees, lemon bacardi rum, lemon, lime, mint leaves, sugar)
The happy couple. Can you believe these kids are getting married in a month!
As much as she won't admit it, Nat got trashed.
Exhibit A: (note: no-one else was laughing...)
Exhibit B:
Exhibit C: (we were still not laughing...)
This is about where I started to feel it...
The proof of that was when I decided it would be fun to eat the fruit in my drink using my straws as chopsticks... not to mention I was eating lemons...
And no-one had hangovers the next day.
We had breakfast on the esplanade, did a spot of shopping, then they all went home.
That night, G said he was taking me to Bellisimo's on the esplanade. Best italian food I have had in a really long time. We downed three bottles of wine whilst there. We were too drunk to stay, and naturally thought "let's go buy more wine!!" So we were off to buy the wine...
It was all downhill from there...
We decided to go have a spa bath (as you do) and I managed to only get half a bikini on before passing out.
The next morning, I awoke as a 19 year old, feeling a lot worse for wear. I was spoilt with lots of great pressies from everyone and had an awesome day (once I got past the throwing up of everything I consumed).
I don't have any pictures of the Regatta that night, so I will sum it up by saying a few things -
- Upon showing my ID, the bouncer noticed it was my birthday and I got a free $50 drink card as a result.
- Great company, great food.
- Watching G take 2 hours to smoke a cigar.
- Random friends showing up, because they care.
- Winning ten bucks on the pokies (most I've ever won)
- 3 of us each walking out with our glass that now all look great in my kitchen
I wish I could turn 19 every year!
