life is strange

life is dialectical, a series of reactions directly and indirectly related. If you're standing on a ball and fall off in one direction, don't feel too bad because the ball just went flying in the other. On Friday I signed up for some classes at SCCC, paid for by AmeriCorps, and am getting a sweet new computer, paid for by AmeriCorps. On Friday night my car broke down. I was able to take it in on Saturday and now it needs $1200 in repairs. The computer I'm getting cost $1200. Funny how that happens. It's nice that my parents have the resources to loan me some money, but I hate being in debt. What I have even more is collecting debt when people owe me. At work, shit trickles down. Because the grant writer's boss didn't give her the information she/I/we needed until Friday at 2pm, I had to spend the weekend creating a DETAILED OUTLINE for the next YEAR of programming, and email it to her by Sunday. But hey, now I've got something to work from for the next year... assuming the grant is accepted, and assuming I want to stay. I'm just lucky my mom has been recovering so well so that I don't really have to worry about her much, otherwise I would have quit on Friday when the grant writer told me over the phone "We're not going to do this again. You're not in college any more. No more staying up til midnight the night before it's due." Well fuck you. And I stayed up til 5am! Three days AFTER it was due. And got an A! If you wanted an outline of the next year of programming, ask me a week or two in advance, and DON'T take out your frustration on me with some agist irrelivent insult.

That's all. The sun is nice! Gonna go pick my car up from the shop and drive with the sunroof open and pockets empty playing the new NIN album, because sober Trent learned words like revisionism, propeganda, and, oh hell, here's some straight up lyrics that I never expected from nine inch nails:

"I pushed the button and elected him to office
He pushed the button and he dropped the bomb
You pushed the button and could watch in on the television
Those motherfuckers didn't last too long

"I'm sick of hearing about the have and have not's
Have some personal accountability
The biggest problem with the way that we are doing things is
The more we let you have the less that I'll be keeping for me"

It's nothing earth shattering, but it's nice to know that my favorite musician from high school is writing about the state of the world and has mostly moved on from drugs and angst.

Ok, that's really all. Really.
