When I woke up this morning I was informed that it had rained 1" in the past 24 hours. "Hmm, that's a lot." I thought to myself, but didn't think much of it and got ready for work as normal. What can I say: native Seattlite, I'm used to the rain!
My drive to work was uneventful, UNTIL....
I came across an admittedly rather low-lying stretch of road only to find a river running across it. "No worries," I thought. "I can make it through." and preceeded to drive on my merry way. I noticed the traffic behind me dramatically slowing down to make it through the "puddle" and scoffed to myself at thier obvious inexperience.
Then I saw it.
On the other side of the divider between the directions of traffic was a half submerged car, end up. It had obviously lost control traversing the, ahem, "puddle" and landed in the floodwater off to the side of the road, which I had no idea was so deep. Safe to say I thanked my lucky stars that I made it across without any incident , but it was quite a sight to see and made the remaining drive to my work much more....conservative.
