What a very nice overall weekend indeed! Good times, great conversations, and the time to relax and reflect on beauty, creativity and just a general sense of all-is-right-with-the-world-OMG-Monday-is-going-to-suck :)
THURSDAY:
chronosdc seemed to be much more sparsely populated than usual, and in fact, did not appear to radiate the same amount of high energy as in times before. Though indeed fun, I am beginning to have a problem with how I feel it is appearing to lose a lot of the gothic identity as it had in the past. Granted,
dj_dirty_b can make it stomp like few others whenever he spins, but I don't just get the overall gothic vibe as of late. I did see Eddy for a bit,
coffinwolf and
darkgypsy13,
pippilongstokin,
dharmata101 and
jesshiva,
dj_swank and DJ Arcane,
anarcha, Slash and Tracy, that shock-red-headed loud guy whose name I don't know, and sadly almost saw
cerberus777 except that they could not find parking that night..
FRIDAY:
I was on my way to
those_who_mourn study that night, but while in Seven Corners I nearly crashed my car from being too tired to drive.. so that about ended that night rather early though..
SATURDAY:
I got up a bit early to run quite a few errands that needed to be done.. I went to the bank so I could take care of rent for this month, then I came home and fixed one of my web applications (the usual at this point), then went to my old job in Reston to fix two of their web applications (note that I haven't worked there for 3 months now and yet they still need me to fix their web problems!), then went to Herndon to treat myself to some Mongolian BBQ (mmmm), went to Kinko's for a while to piddle about online, then got ready to leave because I didn't want to be too late for Frontline..
Yes.. Frontline.. I went to the Egypt and Burundi Team's big praise and worship night (mostly an invitation by
urgote's old roommate Mark), but had to go to support
cerberus777 since they are leaving with the Burundi Team in May.. I also had the chance to see Dave again for the first time in months and that's always a joy (Dave's cousin works for the big Renaissance Fair they have out in Louisiana).. also met Shane, Nicole and Lori for the first time (Shane must become one of us!).. it was a good night and I got to meet Layla's mom for the first time..
That night I left because
dcmidnight beckoned unto me.. and I heeded the call.. I will once again make it publicly clear that
midnightscott knows how to throw a good party; tonight was absolutely no exception! And it also was quite a very nice surprise to see
belladonnas_web for the first time out in a long time, what a joy! And of course many in her illustrious court came out as well: Rachel,
sameoldtune and Virginia, Corinn,
verlise and
dreammuse..
cerberus777 rejoined me later that night as well.. also saw Marti, Eric, Leo, Andy and Diane,
zekebathory,
cheetahdave holding the DJ fort almost exclusively (meaning: much stompiness),
Bryan, some friend of
Aspen I nicknamed "Hanky Guy",
kat928 who shorn her hair for a good cause,
sadearthmonkie talking to Jen, and half of
cerberus777 and I having a seriously awesome (dare I say, almost PERFECT) moment talking philosophic perfection with the guy Stephen, and a strange French movie Amélie..
SUNDAY:
Got up quite late, got dressed and went to church to join
cerberus777, Sarah, Amy,
normal_dan and Jimmy.. Sarah, Amy,
normal_dan, Jimmy and I went to a very cool and informative seminar on what Islam is really about.. then we all including
cerberus777 went to Silver Diner for dinner, later joined by
oldsmobile_mike and
clear_23, and was just a wonderful time altogether..
Looking forward to
djmohawkadam coming back home to us!
God Rocks
