Welcome to my weekend. The squeamish might want to leave now.
FRIDAY:
I went to play poker with my friends Chris and John. I won a total of $1.25. Yay me! Later on I ran into an old friend, Greg, whom I have not seen in months.. not much else to report on this day other than I had a great time winning in poker (while losing only about $0.25 total)
SATURDAY:
I got up at 3PM.. yes, you heard right, 3PM.. sadly unable to avoid the Evil Orb, oh wait, it's cloudy.. NO EVIL ORB! I am pleased.. except that I'm late for going out to get the rental car and head out to Larry's.. so I'm late, of course, but the automated machines Alamo has for rental cars are a serious God-send.. so off I go, late late late and having to get back home to pack my outfit for Sunday, on top of buying last-minute things like.. a suitcase.. and then off to Larry's I go, where we go and see Public Enemies, an OK film with Johnny Depp.. and BTW the Avalon Theater, the oldest functioning theater in DC, is an Art Deco wonderment with a really cool cafe next door..
SUNDAY:
The time has come for the Victorian Summer Stroll and Bad Poetry Reading and what a phenomenal time it was!!! Thanks to Larry, kaypendragon, Kith, Crystal, Isabella, ladyaelfwynn, Billie, dreammuse, Hedge, Lisa, Lorelei, Steve, John, bara_eponine, Nathan, and the girl whose name I forgot.. WOW oh wow.. bonsai, penjing, herbs, flowers, Corinthian columns and scones.. not to mention bad poetry, of course!

Then afterwards it was time for celebratory Vietnamese followed by peach sorbet..
So again, why am I vying for the attention of people that probably don't deserve my notice of them? Considering that I have wonderful, exciting people in The Scene who come out (or sadly are not able to come out but supported me nonetheless) to things I do, who help out in so many ways and include me in their lives and are thankfully out of the mainstream..
So uh, who wants to go to Budapest for the Antikythera Mechanism symposium July 30? And can take ME???

BTW keypendragon is doing the Victorian Menagerie Sunday August 23 at 1PM at the National Zoo.. eek! A month to put together something to wear!
