Rantings from the bonfire

This is a very good time to hear In Vain's "In the Midnight Hour". I've been given a lot to think about at such a late time, and also to make some very unpopular decisions that will affect a few people.

Oooooo ominous, nej?

One of my very already-known decisions is to take a those_who_mourn mini-vacation next weekend when I go to Miami and the Florida Keys. No Goths, no drama, no black, no industrial, no clubs, no dcmidnight, no spellbound_dc, no Arcadia, no those_who_mourn, none of it. Just a time to wear really happy bright-colored clothing stuff and watch the parrotfish swim around Mallory Pier before they're eaten by lemon sharks. Gives me time to rest and relax before I return and have to face a very interesting future with my life in the Scene. I am not quitting the scene, so don't get your hopes up! It's possibly looking like the opposite. Something that promoter types like shadow27 and pmhrh might want to hear, sometime soon, or people like Jason or dmcindc, definitely violinpadraic, maybe even others.. a united scene is a lot better than a divided one.. something to think about while I rant..

THURSDAY:

Why on earth am I reporting on Thursdays anymore? Not much happens with me anymore.. Oh wait, I got my presents from my Other Family.. oh the Awesomeness!! Especially the tin of pepparkakor from Mandy = THE YUM and ~= THE GONE ;)

FRIDAY:

Found out that my grandmother's funeral is on Wednesday, which allows me to be able to fully decompress the night day on my way to Miami..

I overslept and had to take a nice $40 cab ride to work to make it, literally, with minutes to spare before the electronic cutoff time to report my timesheet and fax in my time. And I literally made the faxing cutoff time by 1 minute. Now that's the way to start your weekend, unless you have a heart condition or stress disorders or other ailments.

After work went late due to being so late to work, I scrambled to get onto the Metro, to change clothes (running into Helen(!!) on the Metro!!), then went to Pentagon City for a bit of really questionable pad thai, and then to AMC Springfield Mall, joined by 666daemon666, kat928, Doug and risu_tales for Meet the Spartans. I'm now out of mental bleach. BAH! But at least I got to see Britney, K-Fed and other social ills kicked into the pit of death..

Oh and BTW, don't ever, EVER, see any late night movie at AMC Springfield Mall, lest you be trapped inside the mall forever.

SATURDAY:

I got to try out my new armwarmers I ordered online from Hot Topic (oh stop cringing, you shop there too!) along with my new claw ring (see pics) at all of my stops. Afternoon/evening spent at Nam Viet with Ryan, Chip, Sandy and some new folk like Brad and Henry from Honduras. Nice long talk which, of course, went into a lesson plan for them to learn about the Goth Scene (how did I turn into the Christian Voltaire??), telling them why we exist and why society sucks so bad for us to have to exist.. gee if I didn't know part of my calling then I'm really too stupid to live at this point..

After fantastic Vietnamese and conversation I left to get to spellbound_dc to catch the greatly-anticipated Voltaire! Whenever he comes to town it's always a Gothic folk concert of utterly uncomfortable hilarity and that night he did not disappoint in the least! But first I got there early enough to explain to pmhrh how I lost that awesome ticket she sold me a week earlier, so all was forgiven (*sigh*).. Hung out with Marti, Rick and his gang, Todd and Joa, verlise (again dragging me to the dancefloor), righasidhe and Emily, Will, the magnficent Helen, Lamia, mycket godt för att se pippilongstokin (who lovingly corrected me about kräm - and if Mauritz and Gabriel are reading this, Håll käften mina appträlar!), djsolaries (did I look sexy that night? hehe), Eric, Tatiana, Marco and Anya, loss_of_signal, dj_transept, Stuart, Hal, Christy and her friend, demonfafa and grayce, violinpadraic, mellorylwindow (you do exist!), zanne, sameoldtune, and a whole lot more!! Including, well, the obvious, Voltaire! Put on a very cool set (though the "Die" drinking song was one of my more fave moments, but oh that "Star Wars" tribute song was WRONG WRONG WRRRRRRRRRONG!) and that man knows how to entertain a crowd, even hecklers couldn't beat him, and he was even "on" afterwards even claiming he was drunk and dealing with a long line of fans and fanatics.. that man is just plain gifted! Wrong, but gifted!

I did some promoting, of course, for Freak Bowling VII, passed out and left flyers, then headed on up to dcmidnight to do more promo.. I realized I missed seeing Angels on Acid there, but it was Voltaire, so I had to! :) I talked to them and had a cool time (yep their guitarist and I are of the same musical kind, that's a good thing!), and also I saw Zev, dmcindc, Andy, Kitty, Zak, oki_no_akuma (happy birthday bead boi!), oldsmobile_mike and clear_23, in_remission, dharmata101 and valdyr, Joseph Blackfeather (sorry to keep running into you all the time was not intentional), 666daemon666, scarydavedc and heleneotroy, and the girl from Red This Ever and her Drytear merchandise..

Ran back to spellbound_dc to get my stuff, dance one last time and then say my goodbyes, of course, getting some quality Voltaire time (that man is, like I said, beyond entertaining), and meeting the very drunk Megan and her equally drunk friends..

SUNDAY:

Very, very VERY different crowd.. well, sort of different.. Eddy picked me up and we went to David and Marian's new house for a housewarming/Super Bowl party, complete with cerberus777, urgote and Sarah, lilian_winter, normal_dan, Kelly and Andi, Chloe and dreammuse. Very good game after all (because the Patriots wonderfully LOST), the commercials CLASSIC (Charlie Brown, Justin Timberlake.. all I'm sayin'.... HAHAHAHA Yes, more proof that there is a Just God, so there!).. great ghetto food (mmm meatballs made with a sauce consisting of grape jelly.. I am dead serious), but Puppy Bowl was lost on me. It looked like a pet store to me. Pet owners, educate me on this one..

And now I am home with a lot on my mind and a lot of decisions to make, and when I get around to making them let's see what happens, nej?

in vain, work, pets, jewelry, those who mourn, freak bowling, arcadia, spellbound, metal, voltaire, super bowl, american football, pepparkakor, goth, event, midnight, freak bowling vii, asian food, scandinavia
