Rantings from the bonfire
Behold
Wow. Just plain wow. I mean, just plain Wow, with added extras of wonderment, awe, and humbleness. What did I ever, ever do to deserve the outpouring of birthday love this past weekend (yep I'm choosing to concentrate on what should matter)
Huge thanx to stillitwatches, 666daemon666, and dreammuse for the birthday texts, to David of my Danish family for the Endtime Birthday Thread, Julianna, Melanie, 333, Lady Michaela, Eric, Tim, dj_spawn, Sid, David the Red, lots of people on my MySpace, and both sets of families, biological, Other Family, Danish Family...
It would have only been complete if Zac were here to give me my loving birthday threat, but I did try to listen carefully to a voice from heaven..
And of course may I wish birthday wishes as well to kat928, 666daemon666, Lyss, cerberus777 and djsolaries, again proving that a set of parents made extra merry for the Holidays!
So let the merriment begin (in spite of lack of pics because I haven't "processed" them yet, sorry never mind here they are):
THURSDAY:
Jepp of course I arrive late for chronosdc because I'm consistent and I can gawthily do that, so there.. I was there in time to see cerberus777, prosector (thanx for the long, long and very much needed chat), anizee and wink_ihsan, dj_transept, dj_dirty_b (are we still on for Wed?), and probably we shouldn't do Evil Clown night ever again, eh?
FRIDAY:
I went to my favorite burger place downtown for the most wonderful rare burger ever conceived by man because I could this weekend (thanx also to Scott and to Joshua for the birthday wishes, geez a theme here), then quickly went home to make my way up to Baltimore for Ascension because I desparately wanted to see belladonnas_web, Billie, Virginia, Jessie, and vesper_holly, better known as: Mortifera, because a birthday spent with Gothic Bellydancers is a well-spent one..
I was also joined by cerberus777, dreammuse, hammerforge, Brad, swandust, Arwen, queen_mab_fae, verlise, ladistrange and Christopher, Johnny Sake, in_remission (one of the most elegantly-dressed people I've ever seen), Jeff, and this very cool guy Brent who wants to film us all..
The pics will explain the level of how much fun and wonderment I had that night: Mortifera, you are simply beyond amazing!!
SATURDAY:
Ah to get up nice and late, but still up in time to talk to Stefan of my Danish Family, to Ryan and Lisa, and to get inspired to go out and buy myself a nice birthday present (pics forthcoming), that I debuted later that night at dcmidnight, but first, I bought stuff, went to Charlie Chiang's in Herndon (Worldgate) for my favorite Mongolian BBQ Birthday Treat (mmm meat), and then back home to get all pretty and then off to dcmidnight
And yes, more merriment ensued, thanx of course to cerberus777, Marti, Chris, Eric, Oscar, Fabian, Brett, violinpadraic, Pete, Kitty, kat928, 666daemon666, dreammuse, Edward, ladistrange and Christopher, Asia DeVinyl (I'm routing for you!!) and Joe, Canaan for the first time in ages, meeting Warlock for the first time, along with Mike and Holly.. Stewart, verlise, rainingdays and justaputz (aww thanx for the pic!), 333 and Meredith (and the great soaps for my grandmother's birthday uh 3 weeks ago ahem), oki_no_akuma (thank you for the shirt compliment! :] ), the cherry-filled black forest cake all for me that was quickly consumed, lots of dancing in new birthday present, and mojitos!
SUNDAY:
I got up later than I wanted, wasn't sure if bio parents wanted to do anything with me, but managed later on that evening to go to Asylum for Romka, yes more bellydancing! I thought Olivia was amazing out there, and it was great to see Edward, Sean, deadmoonrising and darkgypsy13, not to mention a whole new set of freaks I've never seen before..
Then hung out a brief bit with Eric downtown before he disappeared into the morass, went to Chinatown to treat myself (all by myself, crap) to almost-authentic Chinese, and waited until midnight to strike for the official time to become 21 to befall upon me..
MONDAY:
Even if I had to work, it was a very light load today and people admired my new look (but I wish my Russian boss didn't have to force me to reveal the dreaded age which is [classified due to security reasons]), and then afterward I head downtown where bio parents and bio brother wish me Happy Birthday and Tim gives me a Birthday Dinner (mahi mahi and black bean soup are the yum!), and I go home and collapse. "Too Much Birthday". ;)
That is all. So what will I do next year to top this? ;)
