Exactly. The more and more the show develops the more and more I want to see Dean in a relationship where he's not taking care of anyone, or needing to take care of someone. I feel like every relationship he's ever had has either had him taking care of someone or following someone's orders. Cas? It's not so much. Yes, they're equals, and Dean wouldn't have to try to be anyone else around Castiel or take care of him. And they wouldn't take shit from each other. *sigh* Is it too much to hope we get really big hints of Dean/Castiel in canon
( ... )
Yeah. And Dean's the type of person that even if Sam or Jo could take care of themselves, he's still gonna feel the instinct to protect them and watch out for them... it's too ingrained in him, I think. And yes, he'd probably worry about Cas as well, but I think he's more comfortable with Cas in that sense... he knows that Cas can take care of himself, so he doesn't feel obligated to watch out for him. Dean would need a significant other who he wouldn't feel the need to protect, but would want to anyway, if that makes sense

Exactly :) What's so great about Dean and Cas is that the other is just... different from what they've each had before. And yet that's what they need.
And yes. It could be stable, and for Dean I think it would be worth it because as much as he says he wants a family he also kinda strikes me as a guy who'd need his own mission, kind of his own space a little bit, and Castiel obviously would be like that, too. It works for them :)
Yeah... I don't ship a lot of people in Supernatural. There's some I enjoy, but I don't really read fic for them or get involved in their corners of fandom. Dean/Castiel is just so... epic.
I feel like last season towards the middle of the second half Castiel and Dean's relationship was getting brushed aside. I guess that can be expected (they had a lot to cover in such a short amount of time), but like you said Castiel's already been mentioned this season. So hopefully he'll continue to make his presence felt even when he isn't there. Because yes, Dean totally is thinking about him <3. So hopefully

Oh, definitely :) But yeah, things sneak up on the writers and develop whether they meant it to happen or not. That's the awesome thing about stories/shows, etc. But yeah... something's there that makes us stick around for it.
mmhmm... I feel like the end of the apocalypse kind of warrants needing to look closer at the characters and their interpersonal relationships. Figuring out Dean and Sam as brothers, what family means to the boys, what that family is to them, and yeah, hopefully some Dean and Cas friendship or more as well. We already went big, so now is a good time to go small, in a sense. I'm looking forward to it :)
