(no subject)
I've been in Boston for a little over a week now. My life in short:
1) I have a lot of fic to post. As in "a lot", I mean I have 1 that I'm just gonna post un-beta'd I think (?), another that's going to be beta'd over the next few days, and two more I'm putting the finishing touches on. Fic is my happy place, so I've been living there recently.
2) I succumbed to tumblr. I'm still trying to figure out the do's and dont's and what not, but if anyone feels like following me, I'm here, as theninthbow like always ;o)
3) Classes are going well so far. My novel writing class looks like it's going to be fun. Most of the people I know from previous workshops and I like them all (personally and in a professional/writer's sense), and the prof seems like a great guy. My literature class (Literature of Evil) is going to be a ton of work, but seems interesting. I just have to read Madame Bovary next week so... *gags* The prof pretty much dissed all fantasy and sci-fi literature, which made me like him less, but he seems smart and passionate about the subject, so I'm still excited. I have my first short story workshop on Monday, so we'll just see how that goes.
4) Living here? In this house? Let's just say after dinner tonight I went for an hour long walk, and I almost ended up in a bar, drinking by myself. Everyone's pleasant and says hi, but it's all surface pleasantries that go no deeper than small talk at dinner. And it's the type of casualness that no one tries to make you feel accepted beyond a "oh, hey, what did you do today?" over meals. It's driving me up a wall, and making me bucket loads of uncomfortable.
5) There's this bar (mentioned above) called Crossroads a few blocks away from here. I am probably going to go check it out tomorrow for lunch. I am excited.
6) Internet connection's been on the fritz here lately. But it seems to be working okay tonight *knocks on wood* so hopefully whatever problem it was having is now fixed. I need to catch up on everything internet related.
