Dark Knight (The "Joker Movie")

Batman was awesome; I've avoided seeing any unofficial spoilers, so certain plot twists were completely unexpected. For a film that size I often get just a little antsy, but for Dark Knight, I actually didn't even notice the time passing. There is a type of film criticism from the phenomenological school that talks about a cinematic experience that is so close that you forget that there is a film and a projector and a camera before that. There is only the moment, and for a couple of moments I actually experienced that in this, a Hollywood film.

Be warned, it starts out feeling really generic, as in of a genre of noir and super heroics and thriller, and it stays completly holywood through the entire film; a slick and fast ride, and it works. It takes its elements and transcends so much so fast, so drasticly and for the better, that its created superheroic cinema. The jewel for an oft muddied genre.

I know Gotham's a fucked up place. It's so good to have a place where nobody; nobody wins.
