I hope you excuse my taking action without your permission, but I felt I should move quickly. I've activated my agents in the New York City area, offering best payment for freshest information on Spider-Man; I also have someone in the Daily Bugle offices to tell me if something is coming in, and I am launching a spurious attempt at purchasing the paper to distract Jameson for a time from any investigation of Spider-Man's disappearance.

The first moment I hear anything, Lord Nathan, I will contact you to tell you.

Spider-Man was not a mutant, but he was a truly superb individual. One who could defeat, through nothing but sheer perseverance, a Herald of Galactus, deserves such respect.

In my organization, the root of 'deadline' is 'dead'. I was never merciful to fools and liars. I doubt there will be any mendacity on their parts - it is quite well known that 'Mister Noor' may not be a terrorist, but those who cross him die painfully.
