Awards Update
This is a little update about how nominations are going at TNLA
Nominations have been open only FOUR DAYS, but we already have 83 nominations. Although some of them won't make it into the Official Nominees List (due to eligibility issues - as promised, it's something for the mods to worry about, not you guys!), most of them have. I would love us to keep up this kind of momentum. 20 nominations a day for the entire nominations period would give us 560 nominations. *nervous laugh* I'm not expecting quite that many (so don't panic!), but it would be wonderful if we could get over 200! So, here are some hints:
* You can nominate in installments, so don't think you have to have your entire list ready before you nominate! If you read something you like and you think deserves to be in the Awards, nominate it there and then! We don't mind them coming in in dribs and drabs, and you wouldn't want to forget about it!
* Don't think that you shouldn't nominate something because someone else definitely will. Every nomination counts as a 'second'; that means that your repeat nomination will help that story make it through into the Official Nominees!
* I've said it before, but I'll say it again: even if you think a story won't be eligible (popular author? popular story? author been around a while?), nominate it anyway! Even popular authors might have quite underappreciated stories (maybe their first one? maybe one in a different ship than they normally write? etc.) that will be eligible. And popular stories and authors might be new and eligible too. So, nominate!
And, finally, a great big thank-you to all those of you who have already nominated! And if you haven't, you have until midnight on June 11th to do so, and you can find the nomination post here!
