Why Liquid Courage
... list form because I can and my thoughts on it are just not very coherent because it's so good just like this sentence with lack of punctuation:
- One of those perfectly short stories. No cramming. No dragging on. Everything fits in just lovely. Funsies.
- Draco is drunk. Draco is a bastard and drunk. Draco is not fawning over Hermione, and Hermione is not fawning over Draco! It's just a giant big pile of "YOU'RE HERE, I'M HERE, I'M DRUNK, LET'S TALK!" and I quite enjoyed that. It's very effective. Plus the dialogue, to me, sounds canonically realistic. Oh, and no physical attraction as is usually, uh, commonplace in such fics -- that's what usually spoils the "I'm going to write a canon D/Hr. They must end up having crazy European sex JUST BECAUSE" or, similarly, "It ain't D/Hr unless there's romance!"
- Terra writes fantastically well. Her writing is a lovely mixture of everything ... this would probably not get bashed at HPFF for having: too much/little dialogue, too much/little description. As Aleksandr the meerkat would say: simples.
- Canonical representations of the characters are simply brilliant.
