Here I am again...

So, here I am again, working on my last paper of another semester. This time it's representations (or the lack thereof) or race in queer studies scholarship, for my 502 class on race theory. Once again, I feel as if I've bitten off more than I can chew...must learn to choose much more narrowly specific topics. As things go though, this may very well be the last research paper I write at Cal State Fullerton. I've got one last class to take in the fall, a graduate seminar outside of American Studies. I've decided to take a Human Geography class. Paul and Tim took it in the spring of our first year in the program, the same semester that Rhonda and I took Jolles's Contested Sexualities class. I was torn at the time, and have sometimes wished I had just taken the geography class when they did. I don't regret taking the other class though, I learned a lot. Anyhow, the good thing about this geography class is that it does not require a lengthy research paper...which is awesome.

So, I don't think I'll be happy with this paper, but that always seems to be the case anymore. I will, at this point, be very happy when I turn it in tomorrow. Of course, that won't be the end of the road for the semester, not just yet. I have an in-class final in Jesse's Love in America class on Thursday night. So that means I will be spending all day Wednesday and all day Thursday studying right up until the exam.

I've really never learned to give myself enough time, and so I'm in this same familiar position once again. I will probably have to stay up all night finishing this paper just so I'll have time to do some editing tomorrow before it's due. I can't tell you how happy I will be when Friday rolls around.

Rhonda is flying up to visit her parents tomorrow night. I have to get her to the LB airport by 6:00, which means I won't be able to work on my paper until the last possible minute and then drive it over to school right in time for the 7:00 deadline. I'll have to wrap this one up a few hours early, we'll see how that works out.

So, Friday will be spent home alone...but glorious. Rhonda comes back Saturday, then we've got graduations to attend on Sunday. She'll be at the psychology graduation ceremony and I at the American Studies watching Tim, Jimmy, Brendan, Karen, Megan, Allison, and whoever else graduate. Then lunch with Tamara and Tim's graduation party.

But that's all so far away right now...
