I'M BACK!!

I just got back today from Orlando. For those of you who don't know, this weekend I was in the National American Miss Florida Teen pageant. Going in, I really didnt know what to expect, but I had such an awesome time!! It was such an amazing experience. It was at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando. It's right next to Disney. It was really cool because we could see Epcot from our hotel window. We were able to watch the fireworks at nite. The hotel was sooo gorgeous. It's a 4 or 5 star hotel, and it was absolutely beautiful. This weekend they had the Jr Teen 2 divisions pageants and the Teen pageant. The Teen pageant was for ages 16-18. We drove up there Friday nite. Sat morning i had orientation and sat afternoon i was in the optional talent contest. Sat nite i was in the escorted formal wear competition. It was really cool. There were about 85 girls in the teen division, and each girl was wearing a unique beautiful dress. Each girl would go on stage with a male family member. They would walk on stage, stop, the girl would go forward and do a circle turn, the guy would come up and give her roses, and they would walk off. The emcee would introduce each girl and give a little info about her. Sunday morning I had the personal introduction contest. Each girl would put on an interview suit and go on stage individually. She would say her name, hometown, and ambition. My last competition was the interview. It was definitely an interesting experience. You would go into the room and there were 8 numbered tables with a judge at each. You would go to the first judge, give them your resume and be seated. They would ask you one question and you would answer them. you had a minute with each judge, and when the bell would ring you would go on to the next judge. Sun nite was the big pageant finale. We started out in our matching National American Miss pink shirts. We did an opening dance number to "Ladies Night" LOL. Then the optional top 5 contestant competed. What happened was the there was a talent, actress, spokesmodel, and casual wear modeling optional contests on Sat. The top 5 in each contest recompeted at the finale. I made the Top 5!! I was soo happy. So at the finale i recompeted with the four other girls. 3 girls sang, 1 danced, and I played piano. Then each girl did her final walk by herself in her formal gown. Then we all came on stage in our dresses and they gave out the awards. I got 4th runner up in the talent competition. The whole experience was really cool! I met some great girls who were really nice, and i did something that i never really thought i would do. It was definitely really cool and really fun. What's also really cool is because i placed in the top 5 for talent i can go to the National Pageant in California this November and compete in the talent competition! That's so cool!! im really happy about that
