Happy Hostas, Other Neecer Notes, Questions for My Handful of Dear Readers

The Hostas sure have exploded the past couple years.  In the lower right of the photo you can see my typewriter shaped clay pot.  The second picture shows the time it had Hen and Chicks in it, which I killed by not noticing something had fallen on it..  Whatever. I'm going to plant another single woman family in there soon.

Other stuff:  Can I just say again how much I enjoy this laptop computer?  It makes computer use somehow a lighter experience. I've gotten use to the touch pad and now prefer it to the mouse.  The touch pad is set at a fairly sensitive response, which makes navigating well-- again, lighter.  It is highly Neecer-friendly.  They don't have to cost a lot either. We are completely happy with an older model barely used by an old friend of mine.. at 1/2 to 1/3 of the cost of a new one, depending on what you need it to do.

It might just be wishful thinking, but G. installed an A/C unit in our small living space yesterday. We have had a few warm days this past week, and maybe there are a few hot ones in store for us?  It could happen, right?  Meanwhile send cooling thoughts to my brother and wife who have been hanging out in temperatures well over 100 degrees at home near Vegas, and on their recent visit to Arizona to attend a nephew's wedding.  Summer Solstice is Friday and I wish you all what feels just right, right now.

Time to go to the store and buy lots of baking soda and cheap coffee to try some odor-reducing remedies on stuff that's been in storage for a few years, and areas in the unfinished house that the cats mark as their own. On the other hand, the cats are certified de-mousers in the same areas.  No pest problems, just musty smells.  If you have any hints about such matters, email me!  My 100 Things Purge has me digging into boxes full of older and smaller (classic!) clothes that need a cleaning prior to donation.  This is good work.  As is my work at the library, where I do still work., lest you might think I've plunged into house and garden work full time.  Purging has become my new hobby.

Speaking of hobbies, G. sure is enjoying his Father's Day gift from me:  a computer game called Rollercoaster Tycoon, I think.  The only computer game I enjoy is Scrabble, and occasionally Boggle.  Do any of you enjoy any computer games?  LMK.  Is that an actual computer/texting term, or did I just make it up?  It means "Let me know."

My favorite typo:  when I accidentally type my name as Dense or Densie.  Do you have a favorite typo?

Movie recommendation: Lars and the Real Girl.  Make sure you watch the whole thing. I love this movie.  For those of you who have seen it, would you let your child watch it?  Not having children, I often wonder about these things.  Especially when I'm recommending to my best S. Bird in Idaho.

I was recently charged by a Hummingbird. It scared me.  It was loud like a small airplane and almost poked me.  G.'s mom said she's had one land on her and pull threads from her gardening glove, and take a bath when she's watering her plants.  I've always thought of Hummingbirds as off limits. But ever since one came in my house and hovered briefly, I've felt differently.  They are at the top of my list of creatures that are especially meaningful to me.

garden, hostas, hummingbirds, scrabble, boggle, 100 things purge
