I feel like posting IIDX accomplishments because people on my friends list play IIDX and im proud of myself.
I passed V on 7 key on 4 speed in training mode with 100% and then 82%. I tried it on 5 speed a couple of times, but i make it up to the end with over 80% and then my life bar drops. Im very proud of that. V is a very cool song. Its a song that i feel i can prove to myself that i have accomplished something really hard in IIDX if i pass it on 7 key. ill be able to pass it in a couple of days.
In other news, ive passed everything on light 7. Fucking Safari.......I passed it after about 15 tries. I hate that song, so ill learn to AA it. Stoic on light 7 ive passed 3 or 4 times already, but i definately cant do it consistantly. Ive come really close to AAing traces because i play it ALL the time. Ive AAAed about 3 songs in liht 7 mode also.
For 7 key, ive passed everything 5 stars and down. Ive passed a little more than half the 6 stars so far. Im working on bad routine, but i keep on failing it like right at the end because they throw in alot of scratches. I can consistantly pass Abyss. I think thats a great training song because of all of the "jumps" and how they are one after the other. That song has helped me get better overall in IIDX. Im also very proud that ive passed a few 7 star songs so far. Absolute and Voltage are just to name a few that i can consistantly pass. I also passed Holic which is a 7 star. I think thats probably the hardest song ive passed thus far in IIDX. I keep on failing Era with 76-78%. That really really sucks. I also AAAed some 4 star song, but i dont remember which one. It was an accident, i didnt really mean to.
As for arcade; i went to the new TCF yestarday with Adam. That IIDX machine is really cool. I played pretty well, IMO. I AAed Symbolic on light 7, which is probably the hardest song ive AAed. I almost passed V on 7 key with auto scratch. (This is what actually made me go home and practice it. But at home i decided to learn it fully without auto scratch.) I passed a few songs with one hand, i think bad boy or something. But its a really nice machine.
As for doubles; i can only pass like around 5 songs on light 7. there is no beginners mode for doubles which sucks, but eh....what are ya gonna do, right? I give myself a week more and i think ill be in the clear with doubles. Im still coding which fingers belong to which keys, and whenever a turn table gets thrown in there it totally throws me off, but i manage. I dont see ANYONE playing doubles at all. Its so much fun, but if you dont have the controllers to practice for it then yea....its very difficult. especially being that you have to know how to play with one hand. And the thing is; even if you play singles with one hand its significantly different because; i play on the left side. When i play singles with one hand, my right hand is on the keys. When i play doubles, my right hand is on the right side, and my left hand is on the left side, making it feel wierd. Ill get it down though. Id like to pass G2 7 key on doubles one day.
The only downfall that i have with IIDX is; im so unfamiliar with skill level and whats considered "good" in terms of IIDX. I dont know how far along I am, or what to aim for exactly. I wouldnt mind AAing V on 7 key, but im not even sure how much of an accomplishment PASSing it would me. Sure, for me i think it would personally be a huge accokmplishment, but overall i dont know where that would stand in the IIDX community.
Another downfall is that im not exactly sure if im going about playing the "correct" way. okay.....the top three black keys are 2, 4, and 6. The bottom four white keys are 1, 3, 5, and 7. My left hand takes care of 1, 2, and 3. My pointer is on 3, my middle finger is on 2, and my ring finger is on 1. My right hand takes care of the rest of the keys. My pointer is on 4, my thumb is on 5, my middle is on 6, and my ring finger is on 7. My left hand takes care of the scratches, and in the event that there is a scratch in conjunction with 1, 2, or 3, everything is prearranged so that i dont use my left hand to hit the scratch and the keys at the same time. (one of my right fingers will slide over and hit the key while my left hand scratches, depending on which key it is is how i determine which right hand finger will slide over.) But i progress so slow in the game, that im thinking maybe other people just randomly use their fingers for whatever keys. I know that to get to some depth of the game, assigning fingers to certain keys helps, but to progress to passing and AAing flashing 7 stars, i dont know if im going about it the right way. I mean, my right hand wields alot of responsibility concerning me playing IIDX. It takes care of four of the seven keys, and it takes care of all 7 when scratches come on. I figure ill get better with my right hand in time. (I move my left fingers better because im a lefty.) Sometimes i cant scale as well (I think thats what its called....scaling) because from left to right, ill start off doing it fine with my left hand, and when it gets to my right hand i get alot of goods and sometimes my combo breaks because i cant keep up. (Only with 16th notes, of course.) When i first started playing, my philosophy was split the controller up evenly between both of my hands; four buttons for the left hand (Scratch, 1, 2, and 3), and four buttons for the right hand. (4, 5, 6, and 7.) Hopefully, this works out. I personally think i look really cool playing, the way i have it split up.
The only other thing worth mentioning is that i passed bluberry stream on light 7 with one hand. Thats probably the hardest thing ive passed with one hand. I think it should be a 5 star.
Oh yea. This controller rocks. Yestarday when i was at the new TCF, i had a difficult time distinguishing the arcade controller from my arcade style controller. thats really good. Its practically the same thing. Man, imagine having two of those.....
In terms of people though....i wanna see Jason play because i dont think ive seen him play on anything besides a PS2 controller. Id really like to see Matt play outside of a tournament because whenever i see him play its usually with alot of people around him so i cant really watch how he does whatever hes playing. Id like to see him play V. Id like to see someone whos really really really good. Im not sure how good Matt actually is, i know hes really good. But i mean someone who can AAA V or something like that. that would be crazy. I wonder whos the best on the east coast? or whos the best in America?
I need to check out that website someone told me about. VJarmy or something. Lemme go do that.
