In other news, I made a pot pie from scratch--all fresh vegetables, home made crust, and a real sauce--no canned soup, no sir. It was damn good, if I do say so myself. One bite and I had to ask, "Why am I superior to everyone in the kitchen? Ahahahahahaha!" (I did use too many peas, however.)
It took 3 hours from the time I started until I could eat, so not something to do everyday, that's for sure. Not only 'cause it tok a while but also because: I'm waiting for the heart attack since I used butter(!) instead of margarine, but so far so good, no coronaries yet. It'll be even better if all the extra grease doesn't give me the runs. I put a pan underneath the pie to catch all the dripping sauce and you would not believe all the oil that gathered there, in addition to the crusty sauce. What the hell.
