El Dia de los Muertos

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

I'm currently listening to the theme from the Exorcist movie.  It's actually quite good--like a Halloween version of the "Chorus of the Bells" (which I really like--it's like gothic Christmas music or something).

I had a good Halloween this year.  We had a crazy go everywhere sort of night that I don't do very often (not that I wouldn't like to, but people want to behave like their grandparents and be home by 9:30 a lot of the times.  Barf.)  Anyway, we headed out to the cornfield maze, did the maze, then went into the haunted section, then drove to oldtown to buy a costume for my friend, then drove to the local gay/straight dance club for their annual dancing in the streets Halloween carnival/party.  We didn't end up leaving until 1:30.  We would have stayed a bit longer, but my friend had been up since 6am and her and her fiancee had already gone to apple hill that day, so they really made a day of it!  It was awesome, my friend got a renaissance costume, her fiancee went as a monk, and I went ethnic in a sari.  I can pass for Indian, so I wonder if I actually did look Indian to people in my costume, or if I just looked like some girl in a sari.  The uncomfortable thing about wearing a sari is that whenever people want to get past you, rather than touching your arm (as I would do), they instead want to put their hands on the bare spot on your back that the sari doesn't drape over.  I'm covered in a lot of other spots--why can't you touch me there????

The doors were naturally not on the toilets at the club either--not that that deterred some couples from doing whatever they wanted wherever they wanted.  (Insert shudder here.)  My friend's fiancee took it all like a trooper, and a great time was had by all--though my ears were rinnnngggginnnnggg the next day.  Ah, permanent hearing loss...great.

Also, I dressed up less for Halloween this year, instead of wearing a full-out costume, I just wore a Halloween-themed black shirt.  Even that was over-dressed for this stupid university.  Whatever.  People suck.

I'm going to watch Constantine since it's the only Halloween-themed DVD I have with me and call it a night.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!
