I am currently researching for my undergraduate thesis, which I'm writing on Degrassi's online fan community. It would be awesome if you could help me out by taking this survey! About You… and Degrassi

1. How long have you watched Degrassi? Since late season two, so...about five years. Jeez.
2. How did you first become familiar with Degrassi? All the damn promos on The-N. I tuned in just to see what all the fuss was about.
3. Have you watched any of the older Degrassi series (Degrassi Junior High, etc.)? Yeah. I actually watched Degrassi Junior High in my sociology class last year. We watched the whole series. My teacher was a fan, ha. Then I went out and downloaded a few of the Degrassi High eps and the School's Out movie.
4. How frequently do you watch Degrassi? I catch the new episode every week at least once, but mostly I watch reruns when there's nothing else on.
5. How do you watch Degrassi -- television (specify channel), downloaded episodes, DVD, etc? TV - The-N.
6. Do you watch Degrassi alone or with others? If with others, who do you usually watch it with? Alone. It's my obsession, thank you very much.
7. Would you call yourself a “fan” of Degrassi? If so, how long have you considered yourself a “fan”? Yup. Oh, since season three or so, when I really got into it.
8. Assuming you would call yourself a “fan,” do you consider yourself to be part of any larger “fan” group or community? Why or why not? Yes, I definitely would. I am a Librarian moderator at Degrassi-boards.com, a message board (which you should probably check out, if it'd help with your thesis). I also write way more fanfiction for it than I should, and I've met so many amazing people through either the board or my fiction. It's really that part of it that keeps me watching more than anything else.

Oh yeah, I've checked out Degrassi-boards.com! I'm going to try to get some info from moderators specifically in the next few weeks, so I will keep you in mind.
