I pulled into the parking lot at TaxWatch around 9:05 this morning, as usual, but today there were NO cars in the lot.  I thought: Weird...usually there are people here before me.  I bet the door's locked.
Yes, it's locked.  I checked around back, called a couple times, but no luck.  Then Stephanie, my fellow intern showed up.  She doesn't have a key either.  We quickly assessed the situation, deciding to leave a note with my cell phone number in the mail slot and go get some breakfast.  We walked over to the Klemen Plaza area (very nice for anyone wanting to see the good part of Tallahassee) and had drinks at a place called Hometown Coffee.  Around 9:45 the officer manager called and said people were there now, so we finished up our drinks and rolled into TaxWatch around 10.  Nice morning.
Last night I dragged Andie and Joyce out to Brew and Bean with me to ask them about playing music.  I talked to this guy Ryan who works there and he said I could come play for him and he'd let me know if I'm what they're looking for.  If so, I'll get to play there some Friday or Saturday nights!  We'll see what happens with that.
The job front update includes: hiring freeze for all FL state agencies!!  I called Florida Housing Finance Corporation today, and the HR person told me that they still have the senior policy analyst  position open, it's just moving slowly because the supervisor for that position is really involved in session.  Session is over in a few weeks, so maybe I'll hear something then.  I guess because Florida Housing is a public corporation they are not always affected by all public sector issues.  So the problem is, in a few weeks, I'll be done!  OK that's not really a problem, it's a wonderful, glorious thing.  But I need a job before that happens.
Trying not to freak out.
