Part 6: Can't sleep. Clown will eat me.
I have an immense, deep seated fear of clowns.
Okay, that's not entirely true. I have a fear of clown dolls. Actual clowns don't scare me in the slightest. Not even horror movie clowns. But the dolls? OH MY GOD! There's just something about those frozen grins that trigger my fight/flee instinct something fierce. I have an aunt that LOVES clowns. And when she moved to florida she started putting together a collection of them. I refer to this collection as "The Foyer of DOOM" I haven't seen her in years. I can only imagine the hell that is her living room.
I have no idea why clown dolls scare me. I don't have any sort of childhood trauma regarding clowns as far back as I can remember. However,I do find lifelike dolls and mannequins a bit unnerving in general. That sense of almost movement your brain imagines when you see them out of the corner of your eye and causes you to quickly snap your focus to them to see if they were moving.
Well, it's probably because they were.
And those clowns are the evil fuckers.
Longer post next time! I just need to do a tiny bit of legal research to be comfortable with sharing it. No, it's nothing tasty. :)
