Party on!

That was the best party ever.

Y'know, I don't think I've ever had so much fun being sick before. I'm totally exhausted, but extremely happy.

Being the silly people that we are, Alec and I actually got to the party on time, so no one except Darren, Sidney, and Mike was there. But we got first dibs on all the tasty food. Mmm.

By seven, pretty much everyone was there. It was so odd being at a party where there are more guys than girls. It was quite fun, though. I like going to parties where there are some people that I don't really hang out with. New people are always good.

When zimzil got to the party, we shared the crazy chair of wonder. And a plate too. And then wildanjali and Alec started fencing or something to that effect, so I attacked with the barbeque brush. Poor Anjali had many onions thrown down her shirt. My hands still smell like onions. Ok, I'm lying, but they did for a while.

So after eating hot chicks and ham, we got ready to beat the turtle. And by that I mean a turtle piñata. Anjali and I decided that since we were the shortest ones there, we should make a team effort to hit the turtle. We tried practicing over in the grass, but I couldn't even stand halfway with her on me. That girl has shoulders of steel. She was pretty steady (at least in practice) with me on her shoulders. To hit the turtle, I gave her a piggyback ride instead. We beat that turtle like whoa. When it came my turn, we couldn't keep our balance and the towel over my head kept falling off. There's nothing like hysterical laughter, especially when it's caught on tape. When the turtle finally did fall, we had,as Mitsche put it, a "candy orgy", as we all dived to get the candy from the ground.

While we opened presents, Alec and I had a gum chewing contest. If you've never put 4 (6 for Alec) pieces of gum in your mouth at once, I wouldn't recommend it. Talk about a sugar high. And sore gums, too. Angela and Mike got quite an assortment of really odd presents, including Care Bears and Superman fruit snacks, a broken bell, socks, a ghetto dancing frog, the saga of Iron Mike, and, the most amazing present ever, Iron Mike himself. Those Leibs, James, and Bryan are fantastic. Not everyone would make a life-size foil sculpture of their friend for his birthday. Since they didn't know that it was going to be Angela's party too, they made her a mini Iron Mike piñata, which she subsequently beat outside and we had candy orgy #2.

It was getting late, but we decided to head over to the golf course to play Capture the Flag. If you've ever tried playing at night, it's quite fun. I kept getting scared that the cops were going to come since we caused quite a few neighbors to put their lights on when we got lost the first time. The game didn't last all that long because of the stoners. We think it was the Daniels brothers and their drugged friends, but it was dark, so it was hard to tell. But they were definitely stoned and we didn't want to get mixed up with them, so we left.

While we watched Empire Records, we ate tasty cake and laughed like crazy. Which, of course, made me start to cough like crazy, but I was okay. At nearly 1, Alec, Anjali, and I left in the rain. I got home to find my mom asleep on the couch, waiting for me. She always makes me feel so guilty when she does that. But I was ecstatic anyway. I went to bed feeling wonderful, but again realizing that time is running out. I just have to try not to think about that. It makes me terribly sad. I love everyone so much and it will be terrible to leave everybody.
