The L Word
OK, some research in the name of fic. Or rather, a question: do you like to see the characters in m/m slash fiction using the L word towards each other? Specifically, do you like to see them saying "I love you?" I'm thinking mostly about Merlin and Arthur here, but if you want to chip in for other m/m pairings feel free.
My personal feeling is that yes, I like to see it. There have been many wonderful fics that have left me feeling a little empty because no direct confession was made, and despite how trite they sometimes seem these days, I still think they're important words. That said, I have also read stories that have been ruined by a badly-timed or over-used "I love you". So I think my conclusion is: right words at the right time. Not asking for much really :)
