You should definitely check it out :) I've never read comics before so this is my first foray, but I freaking love it, and the art is beautiful. The creators have said that they love Buffy, and imo you can see the Whedonverse influence in the snappy dialogue and some of the themes, but they get a lot right that Whedon continues to get wrong, like the diversity of the characters, and its core feminism (intersectional too, ye gads). So yeah, very interesting series.

I'm current on it. I wouldn't describe myself as a comic geek, but so far Wicked and the Divine is about as compulsively readable as Sandman. I'm not quite sure how the plot is "supposed" to tie up, but it's I think similar scope to Sandman. And it's similarly mythic, tho the way it's handling the divine is really different.

It also feels a bit like Pamela Dean's more mythic and fairy tale stuff. Or Emma Bull.
