Day 7: Least Favourite Season

Season 1. I know it’s kind of iconic, but I was never a big fan of the highschool setting, the sexism is just rife, and the fashion is pretty horrible D:

I'm curious - why sexism? Unless you mean the way Buffy was dressed? I'm not saying you're wrong, I just can't recall it.

Otherwise, I agree - I think think a lot of fans feel that way about the first season.

No, it's not her clothes at all (I only object to those on an aesthetic level *g*). I'd have to re-watch to give you specifics, but there are just A LOT of sexist remarks and attitudes directed at (mostly) Buffy and Cordelia that... have not aged well.

Oh, man, the sexism... There are moments of that all through the show, but it gets pretty ooky in S1.

I'm not a fan of the monster of the week episodes and season 1 was full of them.

This too. The season arcs were what made it such a strong show, but I think they possibly hadn't hit their stride yet with that side of the writing.
