The White Queen, Ep 2

So... hmm...

I have to say the series is still not really living up to my initial excitement over the trailers. The women are still awesome, but the storytelling leaves something to be desired. Tonight's epi was all over the place, disjointed, choppy and a bit flat. The three year time jump did no favours either.

The best thread imo was the one following the daughters of Lord Warwick, Isobelle and Anne. Seeing the way Elizabeth dominates their lives, even at one step removed, was interesting and quite touching. Isobelle in particular always took her father's line in scorning Elizabeth, and yet... there was still that sense of envy, just before her own wedding, where she hoped to have the type of marriage that Elizabeth had. I just wanted them all to be friends *g* Clearly this is not likely to happen, but given that they've been featured this week, they must have some role to play and I'm looking forward to what it might be. Anne seems more than a little star-struck, so that could be interesting.

Anyway, the potential is still there for this to turn into a really compelling show, and I'm prepared to wait because of the awesome ladies. Hopefully next week.
