Game of Thrones Re-Read
I started re-reading GoT yesterday, to remind myself of the language and the flavour of the books as I'm reaching the climax of my fic, and I've been struck all over again at what a clever author GRRM is. The foreshadowing is just incredible -- the things he had planned out already at the very start of the first book that don't come into play until so much later... I am very impressed.
In a complete and utter headdesk moment, though, I finally spotted the significance of the deer's antler lodged in the direwolf's throat! It's only taken three watchings of the first episode and two readings of that chapter in the books for me to get it /o\ I remember, now, wondering what the hell Catelyn was going on about. Ohhhhhh.
