Writing
Slowly but surely, I'm making progress again on my Merlin fic. Almost another 2k added over the last couple of evenings. Despite the way this story started, flooding out onto the page in a rush, I think this is actually the way I prefer to write -- it's kind of relaxing this way, adding a few hundred words at a time, if considerably slower.
I know where I'm going with it, it's just getting to the conclusion now. I've just got over what will probably be the penultimate emotional hump (nice and quiet, but significant nonetheless -- I definitely find those easier to write), but there are still a couple of action humps to get over before the end is quite in sight. I'm expecting those to be hard because I've never really written action scenes before. The balance between rhythm and description is important, and hard to pull off judging by the number of times I've seen it done badly. We'll see when I get there, I suppose -- there's a little bit more wandering in the wilderness before that.
