heart attack
mr_pugh has had a heart attack. He's in intensive care. I slept there last night and will likely be there all day today. He will likely be in hospital until Thursday.
He got to work around 5pm and felt an ache in his chest. Also he was pale and sweating. Then the ache went into his arm. His coworker called the ambulance and they took him to Toronto General, which is oractically across the street from his job. I got there at 6:30, just as he had his second heart attack. He has responded well to the drugs and has remained conscious. Later they'll do an ultrasound to check the damage to his heart. He may need to get an angioplasty. He will need to quit smoking and also to take heart medication.
So I'm kind of in shock, and I'm also kind of dealing with having come really close to losing my lifemate. I'm wavering between feeling hyper-focussed and competent and feeling like I'll collapse into a blubbering mess. Mark is working for me tonight, but I'm kind of looking forward to going to work on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday to give me something to do. I'm not really sure yet if I'll be available for gaming. I'm short on sleep and feeling pretty spacy.
We haven't told his parents or my family yet. We're waiting until we have more information, hopefully later today.
