ok it turns out that they switched the order of the show, so we're not really sure WHEN we're going to be playing tomorrow. they scheduled us to go FIRST, because they say that they "want to have a strong start" for the show, but that's BS because being the first act is almost like an insult to us. we've been practicing and planning this ALL year, and i've spent sooooooooo much time learning these two songs. you seriously have no idea how much i've been struggling with eruption and hot for teacher. i figured out hot for teacher like a month or 2 ago, and ever since then i've been trying to learn eruption and practice hot for teacher at the same time. i just finished learning eruption LAST WEEKEND. so anyway i've spent hours and hours and hours on this and i'm not going to stand to be the FIRST act, just so we can go up there and play and be awesome, then within a half hour have everyone forget us. there are so many acts that just downright SUCK (one girl is playing a recorder with her nose..), or that are gay (one of them is actually really flambouyantly gay..), and i don't want to be put before any of those people. i'm usually not this arrogant, but i make an exception in this case because i REALLY want this to go my way. this is MY talent show and i don't want to go before a bunch of idiots and then be forgotten and given the "best dressed" award. (it's kinda scary because we really do have awesome costumes but we do NOT want the "best dressed" award :-\) well i take all of that back. i can't say that this is MY talent show. it's not MY talent show, but it IS MY ACT in the talent show, (well, it's OUR act...) and i'm goign to do whatever i can to make sure that we have a good chance of winning, because we have serious potential here to wh00p ass. i mean don't get me wrong, there are a lot of REALLY good acts and some VERY unique talents this year, so we have a lot of stiff competition. there's a guy on turntables so he's going to be scratching and i've heard him; he's GOOD. jennifer mao is playing piano again, and i hate her just because she is so amazing that she's going to be really hard to beat. :( lauren is jump roping again which will be really cool to watch, and the jazz band is good too, so there's a lot of different talents and most all of them are good. there's just a few weird and (in my opinion) stupid ones, too. however, i have to acknowledge the possibility (albeit a remote one) that we could suck. we've only practiced with nico a couple times, and although he is absolutely amazing and can pull anything off, we just might now do so well. one of heidi's strings could break, we could get nervous, or one of my strings could break. anything can happen, but i'm just assuming that we'll do great.
anyhow, in order to get out of being first, we lied and said that heidi had to work until 7 so she wouldn't be able to make it if we were the first act. it worked, so they said they would re-arrange the list so that we would be towards the end. we might be going second-to-last just like last year, and i would be fine with that. the one cool thing is that mrs colsen said that they want to start strong and end strong, and we were at the beginning and jazz band was at the end, so that means that they think we're the 2 strongest acts. which is awesome. lkdsfhogirptjsied i'm stressing out but everything's cool. we had an ok practice session with nico after school today, but didn't even have half of his drum set..he left his double bass pedals at a show in bellevue and his cymbals were at someone's house, but we still went through the song a couple times. the only other problem is that i have this wireless guitar kit now, but it's totally screwing up and being all static-y and stupid and i might not be able to use it because i'm not going to risk it not working during the performance.. but oh well i'm not strongly opposed to cables or anything so like i said, everything will be ok.
