She couldn't repress the small noise of glee when she saw the storefront. Nora did a happy little wriggle on the spot, and turned the car around in search of a parking place. So far, there hadn't been a store that could live up to her old Pittsburgh haunt, Phantom in the Attic, and this had made Nora unspeakably unhappy. What was a girl to do without a geekish go-to? Besides go mad with trying to go all over creation, looking for the next issue of the Doctor Who magazine, of course.
Getting out of the car and walking up to the door, Nora did another little happy wriggle when she heard the chimes play the Batman theme. Oh. Oh, this was her kind of place. She eyed the displays and shelves full of different merchandise, then stopped as she saw...
YES! She scurried over in excitement, nearly trampling a much taller college student leafing through a comic book. There was the newest expansion of Small World, shiny in its plastic wrap. And it was hers!
...just as soon as she could reach it. Undeterred, Nora looked around for a step-stool or a crate to use. Hmm; didn't seem to be any -- that could prove problematic. She eyed the shelves, quickly deciding she couldn't try to grip them to help herself up. Well. Anyone around to ask for help? No; the college student was up at the desk, checking out.
This was going to be interesting. Nora got up on the very tips of her toes, and streeeeeetched, fingers wiggling just shy of the box's edge. "Ehhhhhh." She wrinkled her nose and stretched as far as she could. "Ehhhhhhhh..."
