Ava figured it was a perfect day to check out a new cafe, especially considering half the people back east were covered in snow right now. Not that she felt guilty about it - it wasn't as if she'd gloated on Facebook this morning or anything. Much. Maybe just one tiny status update. On the other hand, she knew some people were enjoying surprise snow days, so these things all balanced out.
Brielle had e-mailed earlier to see if she wanted to meet up today, and actually recommended a place on Magnolia Avenue that sounded really lovely. When she'd got home from work, she'd changed, taken Wilbur for a quick walk, then drove the relatively short distance to meet Brielle. The cafe was actually pretty cute - they'd gone inside to check out the menu, then hopefully they'd sit outside.
"The gorgonzola fries look really good," Ava said, biting her lip and scanning the menu, "wondering if I should get a whole order. Lunch feels really far away."
