Summary: Derrick didn't know why Ty wanted to meet up, but he had a bad feeling about it.

It was cold, which was never a good thing in Derrick's book. He much preferred the warmer weather, that's why he lived in Texas after all. Being able to blame it all on Global Warming wasn't much of a help, either.
When he had woken up to the mess outside, he knew it wouldn't be a good day. Regardless, he had made his way into the center for a few hours. The cold weather wouldn't keep the kids away - probably add more actually, as with the schools closed down more would want to avoid their homes.
Then, just as he was settling down to help out with some of the paperwork required, he had received a call from Ty. There had been something in his voice that had worried Derrick and he knew, just knew, that he wasn't going to like whatever Ty had to say. But Ty hadn't said anything then, just asked if he could come over to talk. When Derrick had explained he was at the center, Ty had had the idea of going for coffee and had described a little place about halfway between the center and West 7th, saying it wasn't far from either of their locations.
Which meant Ty had been at Alex's. And Ty had said they needed to talk. Derrick sighed, shaking his head as he entered the coffee shop. He knew this wasn't a date, but he couldn't help but hope he was wrong. After ordering a cup of coffee and a sandwich, he glanced around, looking for Ty. Not seeing him, he settled down in a quiet corner. It had a good view of the door, so he would be able to see Ty when he came in, but private enough for whatever Ty needed to talk about.
