Summary: Despite the cool, Bradley goes to the park to let Casey play and think some things through.
Completion: Incomplete
Bradley sat on the hard park bench, attention torn in two directions. Casey played in the playground, mostly by himself. There were a few other children present, all younger than him. He’d already been approached by two scolding parents telling him that his kid should be in school today. He’d been polite-barely-but inside he seethed slightly.
He’d been busy. The funeral had only been just about a week and a half ago. He’d only been here since Monday. He simply hadn’t had time yet to enroll Casey in school. Hell, Bradley wasn’t entirely sure to go about it. Thus his other occupation other than kid-watching-list-making.
The legal pad sat balanced on his leg, handwriting painstakingly neat for being left handed.
I. Enroll Casey in school.
- Phone a school and ask what to do.
- Which school?
II. Find new place to live. Apartment or house?
- Pros and cons - rent vs buy
+ Buying is investment - Long term obligation
+ House is stability, good for Casey
- Apartment cheaper, easier upkeep
+ Where to look? Talk to people.
Between the two there was a line scrawled with the words Chicken or egg?, his person wondering of which he should do first, find a school or a place to live. Gah. He muffled a groan and gave up on the list for now, focusing more on the boy he had absolutely no idea how to deal with.
