Elllliot. Hurry up! )
It was nice to be getting out with his girls today, and the weather was surprisingly pleasant considering the month and all. The only one missing was Alice.
"Straight up she's yours," Nellie said from off to the side. She flung an arm over Belle's shoulders, smiling. "That's one of many reasons to love her." She air-kissed Belle's cheek loudly. The woman was obviously pleased to be along. She had yet to be to a museum, an oddity for her, but other things did, alas, come first when moving somewhere.
Elliot just shook his head at the byplay, an amused smile tugging at his lips as he squeezed Carrie's fingers gently. "Four tickets. Do you have a military discount?" he asked automatically. He didn't consider it cashing in on his service, but it was always nice to save a little, and now that he lived here again he was back in the habit of saving when he could, since he spent more.
He shrugged and smiled at the boy in the booth when he was told, rather ruefully, no. "That's all right," he assured him, pulling out his card and putting it on that. His treat for his girls, since really he felt he was the one benefitting from having them all here. "All right, my pretties, where to first?" he asked, looking around at them as he reached for his girlfriend's hand again.
"You're our fearless leader, you tell us," Nellie said, winking at Carrie.

She grabbed a map from the stand, and opened it, wriggling her nose as she scanned it. "I think we go upstairs? That's where the special exhibition space is." Looking up and twisting her head around - it was a really popular exhibit, her Journal teacher had said - she raised an eyebrow, because there had to be signs all over, ri-... "Ah-ha!" Belle pointed at one. "See?"

She took a step over to plop her chin on Belle's shoulder for a brief moment, then lifted it again when she started to look around the museum. "I think you're right, but I'm not..." Carrie smirked as she caught sight of the sign to which Belle was pointing. "So then, I guess we go that way?"

"Oh, sorry, love, didn't know you had one," he murmured apologetically. "Too intent on treating my girls right." His eyes crinkled faintly at the corners as he looked down at her softly, tucking his wallet back in his pocket, hand going to rest on her lower back. He couldn't help touching her, even lightly, when she was around sometimes. "Thataways, yes, so it seems," he agreed, amused, hands reaching for his girlfriend and his sister as they started in that direction.

"Onward and outward!" she declared dramatically, pointing to the sign before giggling under her breath. Okay, so she was feeling a little silly, but she was allowed sometimes, she thought.
"Giddy-up, Nellie," Elliot cracked dryly at her from the safety of his girl-sandwich, and it was her turn to make a face at him.
