RP: New Year Coming

Summary: Jake and Neve take some time for themselves New Years’ weekend.

Jake had had to do some research to find a nice wheel-chair accessible hotel. Though he knew one of a lesser rating would be just fine, he did want the best he could find. That was perhaps in his upbringing, and he wanted to treat her well on their little retreat. They’d checked In yesterday to the room he’d booked at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas and had a delightful dinner at a nice restaurant.
It had been very different to share a bed, but he’d given her the option of one or two beds and she had told him that one was perfectly fine with her. Different, but rather nice, once he got used to not being able to feel another person all along his body again. But it was very nice to be able to hold her through the night. To see what it was like. Even if he couldn’t move and shift like other people easily in bed, it hadn’t been too awkward. The morning when he had to perform his routines, he’d felt self conscious, but she hadn’t intruded and he hadn’t had to explain anything.
They hadn’t really planned anything for tonight. There was still time to decide on something before the evening was too far along. “Sure you don’t want to go out?” he asked, though he truly didn’t mind staying in. In fact, it was nice to not have to share her with anyone. Perhaps it was selfish, but Jake really enjoyed having her all to himself.
