Hospitals made her uncomfortable to begin with, and the reason for being at the hospital was one Soli still wasn't sure she was entirely happy about. She knew she should be happy about being a big sister, thrilled even. Soli just kept thinking about all the things this little girl would have that she hadn't, and maybe that was a terrible way to look at things, but it was the only way Soli could look at it. Years, she had spent years wishing her parents would get back together and she could have a normal family, or as normal as her family would have ever been. All those years though her parents made an argument for the fact that they just weren't good for each other, that they loved her but couldn't be together, not even for her sake.
Now here she stood outside the doors to a medical center in Fort Worth while fighting the urge to turn on her heel and simply leave. Her Papá had called the day before to let her know that her Mamã had gone into labor, and he had called again at noon to let her know that the doctors thought her little sister would make her appearance anytime now and that her Mamã really wanted her at the hospital for it.
Soli didn't want to be at the hospital, didn't want the watch her parents fawn over their new little girl, the one worth being a family for. Deep down though she couldn't blame her little sister for any of this, and a part of her really did want to meet her, even if she had a lot of mixed feelings about all of this. Sighing heavily, Soli glanced over her shoulder at Damien, thankful for the fact that she had such an amazing guy in her life who was willing to put up with her cranky mood today and venture to the hospital with her simply because she had given him a wide eyed look and murmured 'I need you there.'. Being in a relationship still felt odd to her sometimes, and she still wasn't sure she was any good at it, but Soli couldn't imagine going through this without Damien's support.
Moving to stand in front of Damien, she slipped her arms around his waist and sighed again. "We should go in now." Soli's tone wasn't happy, but she knew she couldn't put this off any longer.
