RP: Opening Reception for 'Transformation of Self'

Summary: It's the opening reception for Allion's exhibit 'Transformation of Self.'

Allison was nervous.
This was the first time in years that her work was being displayed to the masses, at the very least, to her friends, family and people she worked with on a near daily, weekly and monthly bases. She was dressed in a dress that reminded her of watercolor paint strokes.
The exhibit was set up in such a way that lead the viewer through a sort of timeline of her work; from the early college years to present day. She was proud of what she had accomplished, how far she had come and the styles and mediums she had experimented with. She only hoped others found it interesting as well. Most paintings and collages were on sale for reasonable prices but there were others that were more personal and that weren't for sale.
So far, for opening week, they'd had a good turnout. Her parents were in town, her Mama pleased that she had finally taken that chance and put up some of her work. She was undoubtedly sure that they would want to meet Bradley soon - if they didn't run into each other that night. She had spoken of him a lot to her parents, her Mama especially and they were both very curious about him. She only hoped that would go smoothly. They had made noises about returning for their first marathon coming up in a weeks time so there was another time they could meet.
Allison looked around and made sure things were going as well as they were meaning to go and was relieved to find that they were. Drinks were being served and food being passed around if anyone was hungry. And people seemed to be enjoying themselves.
That was a good sign.
She smiled when someone approached her about a piece and congratulated her on an exhibit well done. It was going to be a good night, she hoped.
