Even though it was raining, Marie couldn't help stopping by the comic store she and her brother had passed when she was looking at apartments. He had refused to let her stop in because, once Marie became fixated on something, it was hard to bring her back to the task at hand.

That would not be an issue today however, and Marie excitedly pushed open the doors Oddball 42. "Oh my god," she couldn't help exclaiming quietly to her self when she heard that the door chime was part of the Batman theme song from the 60's show. "That's awesome!" She could tell she was going to like it here.

Jay looked up and saw a pretty redhead he hadn't seen before. "Welcome to Oddball 42, can I help you find something?" From the look on her face, he bet she'd become one of his regulars.

"Just thought I'd check this place out," Marie said, smiling at the man behind the counter. She liked the looks of the place, but a what made or broke a good comic book store was always selection. "You wouldn't happen to have issue #9 of American Vampire, would you? I didn't get the chance to buy it before I started packing."

Jay thought for a moment,"DC/Vertigo right? If it's not over there in the DC section of the store, then I can special order it for you. You a Stephen King fan then?"

"Not really," she said. She couldn't stop her face from moving into a slight grimace as she thought of the time she had accidentally found The Shining on tv when she was little and had nightmares for months as a result. "I don't really like scary books. He is a great writer though and I think he did a fantastic job with American Vampire." Marie looked around and finally spotted the DC section.

"If you want some more comic recommendations besides American Vampire, let me know. We've also got a great selection of novels and movies if you want to browse them as well." Jay said with a grin.

"Normally I would stay longer, but I have some unpacking that I really need to get done," Marie said with a regretful smile. She would much rather stay here then go back to her lonely apartment that didn't quite feel like home.

"I'll definitely be back to hear about those recommendations," she said with a big smile.

"Come back anytime," Jay said, "Here's the store card by the way. It's got the phone number and the website on it. If you want me to set aside some thing, just give me a holler through phone or email. I'm Jay."

"Pleasure's all mine, Marie." Jay grinned at her. "Did you want me to order the one back issue of American Vampire for you?"

"Three days, maybe four." Jay said. "Would you like me to set aside any other issues that come in for you too?"

"Hmmm," Marie said as she thought about having a couple of issues of Brightest Day set aside. "Not this time. Thanks though."

"No problem. You change your mind, it's no trouble to set them aside. Will you be stopping in to pick up the comic or shall I call or email you when it comes in?" Jay handed her the clipboard to put either email or phone number down.

Marie laughed and wrote done her number. "I should stopping in, but just in case I get caught up with all the work and school stuff and forget here's my number." She finished and handed Jay the clipboard back with a smile. "Thanks, you got a great store." She said while shoving her pen back into her small purse.

"Thank you very much," Jay smiled as he put the clipboard safely underneath the counter. "I do try to make it cool and accessible."
