Maureen glanced over at the intern and stifled a yawn. She had stayed out way to late with Astrid last night for having a shift today. But it had been fun.

"You got the rest of this?" she asked the girl helping you. When the intern replied with an affirmative, she turned to Dess. "Yeah, boss. What's up?" she asked over her shoulder as she moved to wash her hands.

"Coffee break?" Dess said, "figured you could use one right now, I know I could." She stepped to one side as one of the other interns working today came to retrieve a pan of biscuits for the cooks to place on the plates for the patrons.

"Also wanted to check and make sure you were settling into the rhythm of things well." Dess stated, "And see how classes were going."

Maureen dried her hands and turned, letting out a little sigh at the thought of caffeine. "Oh, coffee would be lovely. We've been so busy that I think I've only managed a half cup all day."

"Okay. Your office?" she asked, looking around to make sure everything was under control before she went on break.

Dess grinned widely. "My office," she nodded, "so that you can enjoy your caffeine in some kind of relative peace."

"Only half a cup? Eek. You definitely need a cup then." Dess started to walk back to the office. "Sara will come and get one of us if an emergency happens."
